This position will integrate various materials into the store displays including plastics, metals and electronics.Essential Duties/ResponsibilitiesStudies blueprints or drawings of articles to be constructed or repaired, and plans sequence of cutting or shaping operations to be performedMarks outline or dimensions of parts on paper or lumber stockMatches materials for color, grain, or textureSets up and operates woodworking machines such as power saws, jointer, mortiser, tenoner, molder, and shaper, to cut and shape parts from wood stockTrims component parts of joints to ensure snug fitBores holes for insertion of screws or dowelsGlues, fits, and clamps parts and subassemblies together to form complete unitDrives nails or other fasteners into joints at designated places to reinforce jointsSands and scrapes surfaces and joints of articles to prepare articles for finishingRepairs high grade articles of furnitureDips, brushes, or sprays assembled articles with protective or decorative materials such as stain, varnish, or paintInstalls hardware such as hinges, catches, and drawer pullsFosters a culture that values family, innovation, collaboration and empowermentFollows all safety and workplace policiesCompetencies and SkillsExcellent cabinet making skills with emphasis on qualityOperation of various woodworking equipment and hand tools is requiredExcellent attention to detailAbility to work within tight deadlinesAbility to read and comprehend printsExcellent work ethic and positive attitudeAbility to demonstrate and apply our workplace valuesDemonstrated commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive working environmentEducation/Certification2 year technical/business degree or equivalent experienceExperience3-5 years' experience in a production/manufacturing environment or similarPhysical Requirements and Working ConditionsWalking, sitting, bending, twisting, reaching, pushing, pulling and lifting may be required throughout the workday.Flexibility to travel between multiple PD locations
